Choo Choo… no more choo choo
Current Tune: Ishq Khudai
Today was my last day on the train.
Oh the agony of not seeing the same people rushing to get on the train and rushing to get off. A moment of peace as I try to regain my composure…. Ok I am done.
Ok back to the point of business. Today is my last FULL day in the office. For many of you who don’t know, I have been working on an internal project for Accenture for the last four months. With limited space in the downtown Chicago office, they encourage you to work from home (so with this team I was working in the office from Monday to Wednesday and the rest of the week from home) On this Friday, my project ends.
Sad, well yes, because I loved working from home . Happy, sort of, because my work here was basically done and I have been just doing time pass (yesterday I surfed the net and talked to Neeraj at work - that’s it!!).
Next Monday, I am going to training in St. Charles, Illinois for two weeks. The facility there is really nice, and I will get to meet up with a few people that started with me in February. I will be staying at the facility there and might go see my As Bhayia (who lives nearby) once in a while.
Then…where am I going? Gosh, I don’t know.
They haven’t told me yet where my next project is going to be so I am kind of “in the air”. That’s basically how consulting works where you go from project to project. The project that I am finishing was my first project and that too, in town. My next project most likely will take me either to California, New York, Texas, or with my luck to some really small city in some corner of the US.
I am excited to travel because I really haven’t had a chance to go on a “business” trip.
Staying in hotels and renting new and luxurious cars all at the expense of the company!
I don’t see myself doing this for the rest of my life though. Once Neeraj and I are married, I am going to request to stay in once place (I really don’t see the point of traveling after marriage ).
Apun toh chale. Aaj toh kaam karna hi padega - supervisor and project manager are both in the office.
