Culture Shock!

So the first week of training is almost over (I still have class tomorrow :grumpy:) but you won’t BELIEVE what I have learned. If you keep reading I PROMISE, you won’t be disappointed.

Recap:

1. 200 + analysts and faculty (experienced employees) are here from all over the world.
2. The majority of people are from Europe (London, France, Germany, Amsterdam, and Italy).
3. The first day all 200+ analysts were in one big conference room for the lectures.
4. Since Tuesday, we have been in divided into 8 sections with approx. 30 ppl in each section and three faculty members in each section.
5. I am in section 8 and at my table I have the following people and their countries represented:
Giys (male) from Netherlands, Cristian (male) from Italy, Peter (male) from Belgium, Naomi (female) from South Africa, and Yaseen (male) from America.

Our schedule has basically been starting at 7.45 am to 6 pm with a break for lunch for an hour. Then dinner and two nights we have had evening sessions from 7.30 pm - 9.30 pm. :irked: There really hasn’t much time to go out to a club or anything…until yesterday.

So last night, they scheduled a trip to the a club that was 40 mins by bus. I did not go because I was going to talk to Neeraj plus I do not drink alcohol (which is the main reason everyone goes so that they can get drunk). Today, I found out what other cultures were ALL about as most people came into class in the morning with a hangover.

Some of the things I learned about my colleagues:

Cristian from Italy: He has been sending instant messages all day today to some girl since Tuesday. No one in my group knew who the girl was but we figured that she has to be at the training because of the time difference of US & Italy. Today, I saw his MSN Messenger window and found out that the girl calls herself “hot sex“. So once Cristian left the table, I told the rest of the group this information. Peter chirped in sayiing, “Ya, he said that he didn’t go last night to the club and was REALLY tired this morning.” So what the heck does that mean? Well, after knowing that girl for only FOUR days… they had sex. What?!? :banghead: Man, I knew that Italians were Casanova-types but after four days??? That’s fast.

Michael from New York: He is also part of my section and sits at Table 3. Found out today from Naomi that he was getting quite hot and heavy kissing with Rosa, an analyst from Mexico. Its amazing the things you will do after getting drunk. Mind you, that these two also have known each other for approx. four days and Rosa’s English is NOT very good.

Cedric from France: He is one of the faculty members and has been with the company for four years. It seems that some interest has aroused between him and Maria, an Italian analyst. They were also spotted at the club being a bit too close for being “friends” as well as today too. Cedric has to sometimes present in front of the class, and today you could notice that his eyes would always suddenly shift towards her direction. It seems that this teacher would like to give his student some “private” sessions.

The big shocker of the day. Naomi’s colleague from South Africa (don’t know her name): I had sat with them one day in the big meeting hall so had met her briefly. She seems very flamboyant and likes to party. After returning from the club last night, her and Marcus (from California, I think ) were making out in the elevator. When it was time for her floor, she did not get off and decided to go with him to his room. Then they got in the room, and Marcus began to strip. :faint: Mind you, that they are drunk. The girl stops and says, “No man, I am not ready to take this step, I would like to get to know you.” What?!? Rejection. :rotfl: He basically told her that he wanted her for sex, and she left his room. They haven’t spoken since that time.

What the heck is happening here???? This people are nuts that they are doing this on the FOURTH night. People, we still have another week plus a weekend to get through, and you will be seeing these people MUCH more frequently. I have learned these things that people from Europe are fast and once you mix alcohol with it, they are willing to do just about anything.  What is going to happen when next week comes around and you have to go back to your country? 9 out of 10 times the relationship will be dissolved before next Friday even gets here. :rotfl: Some people JUST don’t think. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

So now you are “cultured”. I don’t say that everyone is like this but its amazing about these people. Are you hear for training or to party, get drunk, and have sex with random people?? Hmm…get your priorities and your limitations straight. :irked:

Don’t worry, I didn’t go to club and no one has made a pass at me yet.  There a lot of Indians here from the UK but they are pretty much very snobs :banghead: (Only Navin from South Africa has been partially decent ).

So now I might go tonight to the Clubhouse to mingle; we will see. Otherwise tomorrow I am going home after training! I will be back to training on Monday morning. :grumpy:

Alvida for now. Jai Mata Di.
