So Many Places…Too Little Time

Current Tune: Aao Naa - Kyun Ho Gaya Naa

Today during a break, two Italians, Marco and Maria, were explaining to Jaime, from the Texas office, where she should go on her 12 day trip into Italy. As I was listening into their conversation as they continued discussing how many days to stay, what historical places to visit, where the nice beaches were and etc.. I began to think…there are so many beautiful places in the world that I still have not visited.

So here is the list of places that I have ventured into (meaning I have seen their airports ):

1. London, England (Heathrow)
2. Milan, Italy
3. Amsterdam, Netherlands
4. Frankfurt, Germany

The only REAL place I have visited other than the most of USA & India is Germany. What a beautiful place it was and I fell in love with it after one full day there. I could think about settling there, what do you say Neeraj?

Places I want to visit ASAP (ok not ASAP but sometime in the near future (see below for date)):
I want to see Euro Disney too, but I don’t know where that is located.

1. Paris, France (this is the tentative plan for Neeraj and my honeymoon )
2. Australia
3. New Zealand
4. Singapore
5. London, England
6. Berlin, Germany
7. Rome, Italy
8. Florence, Italy
9. Venice, Italy (as you can see Marco and Maria would make GREAT travel agents because they have convinced me to explore Italy  )
10. Kathmandu, Nepal
11. Copenhagen, Denmark
12. Hawaii (yes, its part of the USA but I haven’t seen it yet   )
13. Athens, Greece
14. Hong Kong
15. Amsterdam, Netherlands
16. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

So save of your $$ Neeraj because we are going to take a trip. Hmm… now let’s put a goal. I would like to have atleast visited 5 of the 15 sites by January 2006 (I think that’s do-able ).

If Neeraj’s friend Mahesh stays till Jan. 2006 in Berlin then we will be able to see him too!

So now its time for bed. Neeraj has FINALLY found a place near Powai — he is shifting as we speak. I have only two and half more days of training left!! Yay! India’s Independence Day is coming up this Sunday and we are having a celebration @ the mandir on Saturday!

Aur sab kuch khushal mangal aur duayein karte hain ke aap sab bhi aaise hi rahe.

Alvida. Jai Mata Di.

[Poonam] Yeah I hope we will cover atleast 5 places out of 15 in your list. It’s fairly possible if we get a chance to visit any one, most probably Paris, of all the europian places in the list. Aur tumhari list mai about 5 places europes se hee hai …toh no problem..sab ek saath mai .. not much tension!!

And EuroDisney is in Paris itself toh woh bhi ho jaayega…

  11. Neeraj Says:
[Manpreet] I guess you have given your GRE test in Kathmandu right?? most of my batchmates went there for that reason only:smile:
  12. Poonam Says:
Sahi hai Neeraj! I am glad that you have agreed. Phir toh ghoomenge, phirenge, naachenge, gaayenge, aish karenge aur kya.
  13. Monty Says:

Kathmandu is a nice place. I remember when i was shopping there, the shop keepers always told me two prices.
“Saab, iska bhaav itna NC or itna IC hain”

    NC = Nepal Currency
    IC = Indian Currency

  14. Poonam Says:
Two years back when I was in India, my Lalit Mama was taking my nani and all the bade log in our family to Nepal for a yatra. He is also the president of our Bhatia Behraadri (community) so he took many of the elder people in the community as well.

I remember Badi Mummy (my nani) saying that they accepted Indian Currency. One day we shall go Neeraj!

  15. Ridhish Says:

Now now, how is me getting married a pre requisit of you coming to australia? yeh funda merako samaj nahi ayya! You are coming to australia, regardless of me getting married or not! …humari deal yaad hai na? ;)! Apun ko tereko teri bhabhi se bhi milwanna hai :P hehe! lol!

Waise apun bata dehte hain ke if tere ko shaadi karni ho Rashu ke saath..toh tujhe wait karna padega…woh ladki jab tak 28 years ki nahi ho gayi..tab tak shaadi nahi karegi.. :rotfl: Isliya soch lo Manpreeto!
  28. Deepak Jeswal Says:

Thank God I saw Nepal on that list..but in Nepal add the following:

    a) Nagarkot - a hill station just off Kathmandu

    b) Pokhara - mindblowing lake with reflection of the Fishtail ( Machchapuchre ) Peak

    c) Dharan - another hill station not far off.

  29. Poonam Says:
Interesting Deepak. I think we will keep these hill stations in mind when we visit Nepal (whenever that will be :rotfl: ).
  30. Jangi Pehalwan Says:

Do whatever you want… but once just once visit New Zealand… when you are done let me know how was it… i wanna go there as badly as anything.. i would do anything… let me know how was it… its the only heaven on earth… i have only seen it in movies and pictures but the variability of landscape and the calm of the nature have just caught my attention… i hope i end up one day there
