Mama Ko……Pasand Hai!!!

Half the tension is now over. Neeraj and Lalit Mama did not meet on Thursday evening because it seems that Lalit Mama had gotten late coming from his office. His office is in Kalbadevi (near Charni Road) and coming to Powai at half past 7 would have caused him much problems because the trains would have been crowded.

When Neeraj called Lalit Mama on Thursday to find out what time he would be coming, Lalit Mama said that he wouldn’t be able to come and suggested the idea of meeting at the train station on Friday. So he began to ask Neeraj what’s the name of your train, what time, etc. After Neeraj mentioned that he is going by August-Kranti, Lalit Mama began to call him, Sir. We laughed about that for some time as it was odd for Lalit Mama to do that, but he’s a very laidback guy; must have been in a good mood. He also mentioned to Neeraj that if there is some more time, then he can come meet the family at Charni Road (which would be my nani – maternal grandmother, Lalit Mama’s family, and Roop Mama’s family) Neeraj replied saying that he would be coming from his office there most likely won’t be much time and that he had already been to the house once before:!: I guess Lalit Mama was surprised.

Today they met and had something to eat at the McDonalds’ located in Mumbai Central. Lalit Mama again talked to him about the previous questions mentioned, plus asked:

1. What are your future plans?
2. Will your father agree? How sure are you about that?
3. How did you and Poonam meet?

Neeraj answered all of these questions and then Lalit Mama says:

Let me know how it goes at home, and then we will talk again once you return so that we schedule some time to meet with your father!

Whoo hoo! I think that would be enough to say that he has accepted Neeraj! Lalit Mama is going to talk to my mother this weekend so hopefully I will be able to hear what they say.

The overall meeting went really well and we are half-way done. Neeraj will now talk to his parents while he is home, and we will see what happens there. We are still on our toes as we know that his father won’t agree the first time around for many different reasons; but at the end, we hope that everything works out in our favour.

So there is your “virtual” ladoo — enjoy!

Neeraj is on his way to Hindaun by taking the August-Kranti from Mumbai Central (leaving @ 5.40 pm IST) to Sawai Madhopur (reaching @ 6.30 am) and then taking a train straight to Hindaun (reaching @ 9 am). I will hopefully hear from him Saturday night IST (Indian Standard Time).
