Ladki Walo - Ladke Walo
I have been meaning to make this list for such a long time, but just haven’t had the time to sit and organize. Being on the corporate “bench”, (basically not having a project at this current time) I have plenty of time on my hand to devote to making lists (which I love to do and checking them off too!
corny — I know ).
Now I am making a list of Hindi wedding songs. Anything and everything from mehndi ki raat to baraat to saat phere (7 rounds made around the fire) to doli and vidaai. So I am making them by category. The obvious I will take care of (hopefully ). Anybody can help by suggesting your favorite/well-known wedding song from movies or private albums.
Mehndi Ki Raat
1. Mehndi Hai Rachnewali - Zubeidaa
2. Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna - DDLJ
3. Mehndi Ki Raat - Models [pop song]
4. Mehndi Mehndi - Chori Chori
5. Mehndi Masala - Adnan Sami [pop song]
6. Jiya Jale - Dil SeSangeet
1. Amritsare De Papad - Dolly Gulleria [punjabi folk song]
2. Mera Laung Gawaucha
3. Sangeet - Dillagi
4. Ladki Walo Ladke Walo
5. Jijaji - [Thanks Vinod ]
6. Dhinak Dhinak - Parineeta
7. Mehlon Ka Raja Mila - MilanBaraat
1. Aaj Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai
2. Gur Naal Ishq Mithaao - Malkit Singh [bhangra song]
3. Chote Chote Bhayion - Hum Saath Saath Hain
4. Sona Sona - Major Saab
5. Tutak Tutak Tutiya - Malkit Singh [bhangra song]Wedding Day
1. Jhoote Deh Deo Paise Leo - Hum Aapke Hain Koun
2. Aa Jaa Soniye - Mujhse Shaadi Karogi
3. Saajanji Ghar Aaye - Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
4. Mahi Ve - Kal Ho Naa Ho
5. Meri Pyaari Baheniya
6. Chal Pyar Karegi - Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai
7. Ho Jaayegi Balle Balle - Daler Mehndi [pop song]
8. Dulhan Hum Le Jaayenge - Dulhan Hum Le Jaayenge
9. Le Jaayenge Le Jaayenge
10. Baari Barsi - Sukhbir [remix]
11. Bole Chudiyan -Kabhi Khushi Kabhi GhumDoli - Vidaai
1. Babul Ki Duayein Leti Jaa
2. Babul - Hum Aapke Hain Koun
Let us know if you can think of any songs to add to this list. This list will come in handy for the many marriages (including our own ) that will be happening in our family in the next year or so. At that time you try to think of songs and nothing comes to mind. This list will come in handy when thinking of songs to do for a skit in the sangeet program or at the reception.

the one song i can think if is “jijaji jijaji hone waale jijaji” , well its not actually a wedding song but me and my saali sang this song together on the sangeet day on the stage and it was quite a fun singing the song with her.
btw i am Monty’s housemate and got married recently in june.

btw - Congratulations on your marriage! Aapki biwi kab aa rahi hai Australia??
[Abhi] - Amazing link. Really liked reading about their story. It seems that now their story is different — either they are married or living together — not sure which one and didn’t bother to ask.
Thanks for the link — will have to show Neeraj!

I am looking for help and found your website. I have been invited to a Baraat ki Raat and wedding ceremony of the daughter of a valued new friend. I am, sadly, an uninformed person on customs and proper respect when attending these events.
My friend’s daughter is getting married. The Friday event is called a Baraat Ki Raat. When I googled that name, your website came up. I have not googled the wedding. The wedding will be held at Guru Nanak Sikh Temple in Buena Park.
Can you direct me to a website or information on these events. I want to know proper costoms, gifts and decorum. I do not want to be a blight on his daughter’s wedding.
Thanks for your help.
