Ya, its funny alright!
On a much serious note, the Americans are accusing Indians of being job stealers, even favouring legislation to prevent outsourcing, but why dont they realise that its the American companies themselves which want to save money by outsourcing jobs. They should blame their own companies instead of having contempt at Indians.
First of all Belated Happy Birthday to you Poonam.
I really dont think that late birthday wishes have any significance, but I have a good excuse. I was travelling …I am back in India now …feels so good to be back.
So, Just 6 days to go .. to meet Neeraj. Its the last few days which are a problem , they seem to be an eternity.
Thats funny. Anyways, no matter what outsourcing is here to stay. Now its “India” time.May be till the MNC companies can get cheap labour. What next? What will happen to those 150 crores(estimate for 2030) of ppl?.
Anyways, have a nice trip to India. Enjoy your stay.
Hey Poonu, yes its really funny:rotfl:
Well what I like most is that Suraj has sent it to you:smile:. Earlier I thought that he never checks his email and also no point of getting forwards from him but I am really surprised:smile:
Anat, its truly the facy that Americans really don’t understand what is happening with this outsourcing. That’s why the blame gets put on the Indians and not on the big businesses. Outsourcing will not end anytime soon because it will hurt the US economy in many ways. Right now the initiative is to have stability in the US, and even outsourcing is playing a part in that. Its just funny that its India that has been chosen as the outsourcing hub. If you look at it, its doing wonders to the Indian economy which is really great.
Thanks Sameer for the late birthday wishes. I will forgive you this time. Yup the days are almost up and these days will go quicker as I have sooooo much to do.
There was a prediction back in 1999 Govind that said that India would take over in the world of IT by the year 2007. Its slowly becoming true. Even being in the US, I think its great that outsourcing is boosting the economy and well-life in India. There is a lot of potential there for it to grow. As for the population, its only our government that really help by persuading the people to have less children. Especially those who are in the poverish states.
Don’t know Gaurav why we get the same forwards.
Was quite surprised myself Neeru that Suraj had sent me this forward. He had sent it to me from his work ID, which never happens.
outsourcing is a two-edged sword, meaning if it hits USA, it might hit india in due time too. if you look back at the statistics of say, 20 to 40 years back, you will see that india was one of the top countries outsourcing jobs. the decline came in a gradual manner and now we are receiving outsourced jobs. whatever the americans say, its a great boost to our economy. besides its by an open market only that proper business can survive and i find no reason why multi-national companies shouldn’t outsource jobs.
going by the cartoon, did you know that the vatican won this year’s (or may be the previous year’s… i don’t quite recall) Ig peace nobel prize for outsourcing prayers to india… now that’s called outsourcing… :)
Very interesting Abhishek. I didn’t even know abt. the vatican also being involved in outsourcing.
Yup Mona, I think Americans are really the top ones concerned becuz they just see the effect of jobs going abroad. Really it needs to be understood that jobs in US will never diminish. This is because the headquarters of many of these big companies will remain in the US and will require US manpower for them to run.

I think this outsourcing thing is really concerned by a lot of people especially American.
I agree with Anat’s comment, they should blame the company rather than the people themselves. They just want to get work ….
