Wishing our dear friend and blogger, Ashwin, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Just found out from his blog and wanted to wish him on behalf of NP.com! Hope this special day is filled with lots of happiness and joy!
Saturday afternoon watching the Zee International Bhangra Championship and its unbelievable how amazing these groups are in performing! Groups of men and women from different places such as Michigan, Florida, New York, Toronto, and much more. Many are groups from their respected universities, but they are just not good, but fabulous! I am really amazed by their talents because you would think that most of the young adults performing are second or third generation Indians (mostly ABCDs) and their enthuasiam in the music is phenomonal. Everyone in the group is lip synching to the music, getting involved, and just enjoying themselives which makes watching them even more fun!
You would think many don’t even know what the words mean, but they sure act like they do know! 
Its amazing how much time they have put in for this performance, because it tells that they are well prepared, everything is in sync, costumes are one of a kind (unique), and enthuasism racing on each performer’s face. Absolutely great.
I am a dancer myself and have performed in many cultural events as well as marriages, so I definitely can tell how well a performance is going. I wish we had a bhangra group @ my college, I would have definitely participated. I love Punjabi/Bhangra music — even watching this I can’t sit still because the music just makes you want to dance. 
I can’t wait for another wedding — because I am so ready to dance.

even if it’s not a bhangra…still u have to wait for wedding but unfortunately u can’t do bhangra on this wedding (at least infront of public)..;)

Rash is right. Why don’t you get married? Aaj kal to itne saare functions hote hain shaadi pe.. ie ring ceremony, cocktail, mehendi, marriage, reception, etc. Kisi pe to dance karne ka mauka mil jayega!

i am not really a dance person but definitely love the bhangra beats!!! it just makes one sway to the rhythm!and that bhangra championship sounds like a cool idea :D

Itna hi aasaan hota toh main kar leti Tanya par kya kare, life main aasaan toh kuch bhi nahi hai.
Khair waise bhi apni khud ki shaadi main itna naach bhi nahi sakte isliya you get married soon to you-know-who and then I can dance.

I have been reading all commments… sab ki demand hai.. ki Poonam & Neeraj.. tum dono jaldi se shaadi kar lo.. Tum dono ko nahin, atleast hum sab ko to dance karna ka chance milega :)
