New Template, New Version

After a long long time of just thinking about upgrading the blog to WP 1.5 and a new snazzy template, its all been completed. :grin: Thanks to the help of Puneet of starting the header (which I completed with the photo on the right side :wink: ) and to a nice template off the Alex King Theme Competition site, NP.com is new and improved. :cool:

Leave your thoughts and impressions as what can be more improved.

Few things on my mind that is going to happen soon:

  • Update About Us page to its entirety
  • Plugin Updates such as Recent Comments, Recent Posts, Random Posts, etc…
  • Formatting
  • Blog Stats needs to come back
  • Smilies issue with Recent Comments
  • Colors

    Those who use IE 6 will have noticed that is what I was using to update our blog because it doesn’t look as good in Mozilla. :irked: Why do browsers have to be so difficult? :roll: Plan for tonight is to make it look better in Mozilla, but the recommendation might be to use IE 6.

      Was just browsing the site… overall it looks awesome…. just one thing missing…. stat section.. woh gayab ho gaya!!

      lol i had the same thot manpreet but then i saw the photo n i was like ok am on the right site :)

      looks good… but would like if it was not 800*640 format… preferred the older one as it wud expand n take the entire screen…

      the colors are soothing ! hey miss the old about us page which had ur likes n his likes info…

      the random post box on lhs is missing… can u reduce the rhs bar its kinda big… n allocate the space to this main section…

      I clicked the link and started doin other stuff on another window, when I checked this my instantaneous rxn was same as manpreet and kunal’s…… :O

      Looks cool! Although, the brick color is not one of my fav colors but it looks good with red @ header and the bluish bg. The pic looks gud 2!

      wowww a new layout :eyebrow: It’s really really sweet and beautiful layout :yes: I can feel the love in the air hehehehe

      luckily I still can be online during the training but it’s after training hours. The training is kinda fun today but I still need to know some people more :angel:

      Wow!!! a wonderful header..
      jus one thing i noticed, the “Blogs we read” links, i guess once there is an updated blog, the link turns really bright red.. may be a milder one would do good.. jus my suggestion…
      but, overall its a class act.. :smile:

      Wah Poonam Wah!!. Liked the new design. Its nice. :)

      One suggestion, if possible try to change the side image back ground. Its better if its plain. What say?.

      Wow Poonu!! Just wonderful:hyper: You told me about your changesin the morning and asked me to visit the site. I never thought it would look so great!!:smile: Header is really nice Poonam….that mixing of our photos in it is just perfect:smile:

      Kunal my display setting is 1024*768 pixels only and the page is coming very fine…no probs at all so I guess its not 800*640 format…your suggestion of occupying more space in the main section is really good one…I think it can be done easily?:smile:Poonu what you say its easy??:smile:well I can’t comment on that kyon kee karne wali toh tum ho:smile: esliye easy or tough kahna sahi nahi hai:smile:….

      Anyways…seriously mast kaam kiya hai tumne!!!:smile:

      Aacha hai Manpreet ke tum dekh ke bhaag nahi gaye. :razz: Warna life main punga ho jaata. :smile: Puneet was a big help, and NP.com does appreciate it. Still trying to find a way to repay the favour..so we will see what we decide.

      Stats section will be back very soon (hopefully tonight). Woh kya hai ke I deactivated the plugins, some work in WP 1.5 and some don’t. So slowly putting them back in. :smile: Its on the To Do list. :wink:

      Very good suggestions Kunal and also glad that you did not run away after coming to the site. :wink: Not sure abt. the whole 800*640 thing but I will try to make it an option that those who want to see it in the old template are still able to, is that good? About Us is also on the To Do list and will get updated soon (hopefully tomorrow :smile: ). Random Posts, I need to find an upgraded plugin for that, whenever I find it, I will post it. :smile: I will look @ the sidebar size. :smile:

      Either ways, i just wanted to say, your site is great but the title… i’m not sure if it’s a play on words (and if it is i’m sorry) but it seems to me it should be: Our Journey begins together, not Journery.

      You got to stop putting your name as Ankur only because it will get moderated. :smile: Its a good thing too because it will mess up my stats. So go back to putting Ankur Raheja. :smile:

      Stats aren’t up yet because I can’t find the compatible one for WP 1.5. Once I find it, it should be the same because the info was stored on a database.

      so many new post and comments… so much stuff will read latter …..

      one suggestion from me… can u move the smiley from top to at … above the text box… below the tag its more… comfortable….like it was before… have to move the mouse up everytime…. lazy to lol
