Novel, Match, and Much Much More
After a long time, I am finally posting today.
Lots of things have happened in the past two weeks including good news.
Here are some news from my side.
As Poonam was enjoying with her parents, I was busy reading a novel by Dan Brown called The Digital Fortress. It was so interesting, that I could not resist myself from reading so I finished the book in a span of five days. There were over 140 chapters and over 360 pages.
I was very impressed with Poonam’s choice as she had given me the novel when she had come to India in December 2004. The novel is a techno-thriller about National Security Agents (NSA) in USA, and they came across a mysterious code as an unbreakable algorithm but later on they find out it is a serious virus in their invincible code breaking machine. Its a great book from the same author who wrote The Da Vinci Code, and I highly recommended everyone to read The Digital Fortress. Feedback about The Da Vinci Code will be given by Poonam as she is currently reading that novel.
India vs. Pakistan. It was a very good if I would have written by post last week only as India had won the match. Today, I am writing the post and India has lost badly.
The performance by the Indians was very disappointing, and I felt that they were not able to play with their mind because they didn’t understand what the situation is demanding. They lost their wickets so early and so the match was gone out of their hands. The Indian batting lineup is really experienced, but they had played like newcomers to the game.
I was not impressed at all with the Pakistani bowlers, though it was decent. The majority of the mistakes were made by the Indian team.
Anyway, let’s move forward with the series.
I have a bet with my TL (team leader) and I am favoring India’s win so now the competition is getting really tough.
Talent is not the issue with the Indian team, its that they don’t play with their minds so let’s hope that there is improvement in the next match!
At my work, now these days I do not have too much work. Right now working on one enhancement request given by the client and I have more than enough time to complete it. But this phase is just transient and I guess in June I will be having lots of work again.
Well I don’t have any problem with too much work but this time I worry about it because in next two months I do have many other things in my to-do list such as taking a driving couple, visa’s stuff, preparation for GMAT etc.
I am going to start learning driving in the last week of April, will take a training school nearby in Hiranandani.
Thanks for all your suggestions regarding the books and study material for GMAT. I had a glimpse on KAPLAN’s book, it seemed to be good and after listening to all of you, I am going to take it for me and Poonam.
I am eagerly waiting for the call of my visa.
I have already gone for police clearance ceritificate (near CST station here in Mumbai) and am about to prepare a list of all the documents to be ready by the time.
I hope time should go faster than ever before because of so many things I have to aim at doing in the next few weeks.
Lastly Poonam and I would like to wish Mona as her birthday is on 11th April. Wishing you a day filled with lots of happiness and joy!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mona!!!!!!!

Thank you very much for the birthday wish, both of you are really sweet
Thank you ….
Yeah, I think Dan Brown is a good writer although I dunno why I am not really into Da Vinci Code
But I admired the plot and story line, it’s so connected that people think that it could be true.
I am really happy for both of you, I hope you will get the call soon and wish you all the best !
Can’t wait to get the wedding invitation

Neeraj, am disappointed aswell.. but, u know…. i guess the series is pre-decided.. its gonna be a 3-3 draw…. so that both the teams r not tarnished of their image…
we all are the ones who end up loosing out.. Today, i was really confident that we would win.. but, seeing the way they lost…. am at loss of any words to describe that.. :(

Yep — it is definitely nice to see a post from Neeraj.
It took him four days to write a post but atleast its there!
I am reading Da Vinci Code, and so far its great. I had bought Digital Fortress and loved it. So then I gave it to Neeraj when I was there because I thought he would like it as well — man, he finished quicker than I did!
Thanks Ankur (on behalf of Neeraj
).
You are most welcome Mona.
I hope you had a great birthday! What did you do?? Can’t wait to read your new post.
I think Dan Brown is a great author. His writing just keeps you want to read further — its just too good.
How is it preplanned Govind?? Explain further. Thanks (on behalf of Neeraj
).
Yup its great Manpreet. Both are great books. Once I finish this then I will read the other one - Angels and Demons.
India lost. They need a new captain.
Same here Prasad. I don’t get a lot of time to read but hopefully I will finish it soon.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the book.
Why do you think that it will be a draw for sure? Do they really do that so that neither team’s image is tarnished?? Are you saying that they are fixed??

Da Vinci code was awesome …. I have read angels and demons … it was pretty good too …. quite informative about the catholic church ..

Anyway, I really like the way Dan Brown writes. Did you read The Digital Fortress? If you haven’t, then you should. I am definitely going to read Angels and Demons and I did recently see Deception Point in the bookstore. Cool.
He’s the new-age writer man, I think he’s simply great. Hope all is well with you!
April 29th, 2005 at 7:03 am
I haven’t read “The Digital Fortress”, but I will definitely add it to my list! I definitely agree about Dan Brown - he’s definitely been added to my list of authors whose books I always pick up!
ALl else is going pretty well - let me know when you’re back in the P-town area (don’t you just love all the construction?!) and we’ll have to try to get together… and maybe drag Omar along this time, if we can. I’ve been really boring on nights and weekends as of late… Not sure why, but I’ve been really tired! Hopefully I’ll catch up soon. Anyways, I really should get moving so I get to work at a decent time, so have a good one and I will talk to you later!

Construction sucks!! It hurts my family more because we are on this side of the river so going to Peoria is a pain. Have to go through I-474 and that’s just TOOO long.
Its a good thing we have a Wal-Mart now so we don’t really need to go other than the temple.
I don’t know how long I am going to be here so let’s see… i will send you an IM when my project gets finalized and then we can decide.
