So what’s going on with Neeraj’s K1 Fiancee visa? 
Here is an update:
Mumbai Regional Passport Office
Neeraj had gone almost two weeks from this Friday to their office in Worli to give them his passport for a passport clearance certificate. We had heard that it would take about eight business days so Neeraj went this last Tuesday. The guy behind the counter said that it will take another few days because they also go through the Mumbai police to check the record.
End Result: Neeraj will go back to the office on Thursday, June 9. Still waiting on them to finish the verification. It could take anywhere up till 30th June for this to complete.
Kanpur Police Certificate
Neeraj asked his friend Gaurav, who is doing his Masters at IIT Kanpur, to take care of it. After a few days that just went to waste, Neeraj requested to his friend to please go to the police station. Finally he had went last Saturday, and it should take no longer than five days.
End Result: Neeraj will call the Kanpur police station tomorrow (Thursday June 2). Might be completed by 7th June.. Completed and picked up by Gaurav on 8th June.

Neeraj called the officer, and he said that he needs to have a few more days because the fees officer didn’t show up. 
This is so stupid!!!!!!!!!!!! We paid this officer Rs. 2500 so that the job would be done in FIVE days. Not six days or eight days. FIVE DAYS!!!!! What was the point of giving him that much money if he is not going to do our job?????? I hate it when people try to purposely take advantage of other people

Neeraj’s friend went to pickup the police certificate today. He read it to Neeraj, and its the way we want it. 
Now we just need to figure out how we are going to get it from his friend.
Lucknow Regional Passport Office
Neeraj will be going to Delhi by plane on June 20. Then he will take a train and reach Lucknow that very night. Then on 21st morning he will go to the passport office in Lucknow. He should get everything done that day only, take the evening train back to Delhi, so he can get on the early morning flight back to Mumbai. Phew! Its going to be a long two days! 
End Result: Will be completed by 22nd June. It is up in the air until Monday, 13th June.
Birth Certificate
Neeraj’s bada bhayia in Hindaun has been given this responsibility. He has said that he shall get a new birth certificate made with the information that we need.
End Result: Neeraj will call home on the weekend to find what has happened with that. Talked to Satish Bhayia, and it wasn’t made correctly, so the work continues…
Documents that I need to send
I have gotten the statement from my bank (this took forever! ). Now am waiting on one tax form. Once Papa gives me that (he’s out of town right now) then I am able to send to Neeraj.
End Result: Will be completed by 3rd June 10th June.
Interview call? We are expecting first week of July. We sent an email to the Mumbai Embassy for a case status, hopefully we will get a reply tomorrow.

Haan kaafi slowly sab kuch ho raha hai Kaush..par in a way its good. We know for sure that the call won’t be in June for his interview..so we have the full month to get fully organized. Ab dekhte hain aage kya hota hai.
I really like to keep everything organized.
I want to be able to look back and see how long its been taking, what I can check off the list, and what still needs to be completed. 
Once its all done, I am thinking of moving all the visa stuff into another link so that anyone that wants to look can see it in one place in order.

Neeraj will have to go to Lucknow via Delhi, and then he might go home to Hindaun if needed. Otherwise if there are no problems in Kanpur (which we hope there won’t be) then we will avoid going there. 
Wow! Poonam as Mannat said u are pretty neat in organizing..I lack that to quite an extent….but am happy for u guys..atleats somehting is moving on in the rite direction…
Policeman toook bribe thats why work will be delayed by 2-3 days only ;)

Paper work is always taking a very long time, I really hate paper work too …. and sometimes the people whom we need to ask for the document, purposely doing it very slowly
