Happy 1st Birthday NP.com!

Posted on June 26th, 2005 by Neeraj

neerajpoonam.com has completed its one year on 24th June, 2005. Great achievement for us. Thanks for all of you who really devoted their valuable time in writing comments and telling their opinions on each and every post that we had in last one year. Especially, a terrific effort by Poonam.

Okay about the weather over here, its not that much rainy in last two days. The weather is really cool and pleasant but you can not go anywhere without an umbrella because rains can be there at any time. I really hope if I need not to travel much regarding the visa documents. Most of the Mumbai certificates are now settled, and I will go get my passport and PCC tomorrow at the post office near to my home.

Have you heard that Bangladesh has defeated Australia in last ODI? It’s just amazing, I have read ball by ball commentary on cricinfo.com, B’s played really wonderful. Besides this, in all rest of the matches Bangladesh looked quite competitive. That’s really good otherwise Australia was dominating in cricket like any thing in past 2-3 years but recently they lost 4 consecutive matches. I am sure Ricky Ponting, the captain, would have been scared of that since last two captains were dismissed because of the poor performance(based on result) of the team.

I am going to be there for the OBM. The time was clearly mentioned as 7 PM IST(Indian Standard Time) by Poonam so I hope there is no more confusion among all of us. See all of you there!

Yes Neeraj, I agree… the aussies were dominating alot… and it was good to see them on the receiving end for some days.. but, now I guess they r back to form with two back to back wins….
anyway, we should appreciate the Bangladeshis for their efforts against the aussies…
And with the new ODI rules that are going to be in effect from next month, I guess ODI cricket will be more exciting and not as one sided as its now with the Aussie team….

Definitely its going to happen, atleast after this August, when I will be in the US because then after I really want my life to be much more organized and balanced in terms of work and personal priorities:smile:. As of now I have not been good at all in this:sad:.

Yup Manpreet for sure, It’s just the beginning:smile: by the way where are you in these days? Give us some updates about you.
Prasad you were talking about the new ODI rules, can you tell me in brief what they are? we can take that offline if it goes into deep details, no worries:rotfl:
  21. Manpreet Says:

Neeraj, I’m at home in Delhi these days!! Will tell u more at OBM this weekend :)

  22. Manish Says:

Happy bday to NP.com… anyways.. when is the blog meet.. lemme know .. i would join that.. i think i came right in time from india…:)

  23. Poonam Says:
Thanks Manish. You did come back at a great time:!: Just in time for the OBM. More details on Wednesday.
  24. Prasad Says:

Hey Neeraj… the new ODI rules.. they r really interesting..
two rules have come.. and will take effect from next month..
one- a team can have 12 players, 11 + one as substitute in a match.. he can come and replace any one player on the field any time… after that the replaced one can’t come back..
two- there will be 20 over field restriction instead of 15 ovrs as of now.. This 20 is split up as 10+5+5 in which the first 10 should be bowled initially itself, then the rest 5 + 5 any time the captain feels in the rest 40 ovrs..

these rules will be under observation for the next 10 months and after that they’ll decide whether to keep it or not..
but, this is going to make ODI really interesting..
    isn’t it Neeraj?

  25. Neeraj Says:
Yes Prasad really interesting, especially the second rule of 20 overs field restriction. But one thing will be there for sure, now the captaincy will play a bigger and more significant role in the game since both the rules are upto the captain of a team when he should try what?

I guess the rule of 12 players will be acceptable for all but I doubt the second. But any case, defintely spectators will see a big change in ODI matches and it’s going to be fun

  26. Prasad Says:

hmm… the main reason for them to bring this change is to rule out any kind of predictability of the ODI matches.. like the dominating Aussies…
moreover,as u said the captain should play a vital role plus team strategies.. lots of discussions should go before the match begins…. lets wait and see what happens..
