Consulate ke Chakkar Jhaari Hai

Finally back at home today. The meeting is all done, and I am glad to be home. Oh yes, my mouse is now fixed too. Whoo hoo!!! Its a major relief, I can’t even tell you. So what else is going on?

Neeraj had gone to the Consulate yesterday as there was no rain but came back with bad news only. The Consulate officer told him that his passport is still not dry enough, and he should come back with it fully dried. I could hear the frustration in his voice when I talked to him after, but just told him to try to get it as fully dry, as much as he could. His tactic of drying was to put the passport under a cloth and then iron it. He did that many times throughout the day and as we speak is heading back to the Consulate in hopes of everything to get settled today.

Mata Rani bas aapki duayein se hamara kaam aaj ho jaaye aache se…Mera Neeraj phir se niraash hoke nahi aaye ghar bas khushi ke saath aaye…

Life continues…as days are nearing and work is much to do. I hope to come back with good news tomorrow.

Update - 10.55 pm 2nd August, 2005 ::

It didn’t happen today either. The Consulate people told Neeraj to come after two days. Two days??? They spoke to him horribly, didn’t even listen to him, or look @ his passport to see it is dry. I think its due to the backlog because of the rains that they have now asked him to come after two days. He’s not going to go back until Friday. That means that he will have to postpone his ticket to the US. Really a sad day and the worst that we can’t even complain to anyone, because there is no one to listen to us. Stupid Consulate people — learn how to handle work under pressure:!: We both are very upset today….

don’t worry…i know its an harassment, especially for Neeraj, but sometimes that’s the way it is. anyway anything worthwile, is also worth fighting for. just keep yourself happy that finally you both will be together and ultimately it is just a matter of days!!! few days…pata bhi nahin chalega kab chale gaye ……

oh.. thts soo bad Poonam.. testing times will always be thr.. but, jus be confident and give some hope for Neeraj.. he needs support from u at this time.. and am sure u r doing ur best.. hope to hear the good news again in a couple of days.. :)

Frustration is there Mallika. I just don’t understand why they can’t just finish up a job that will take no more than half hour. They are just harassing him for no reason other than the fact that they have so much backlog. That’s not how you handle a business, or a Consulate. Anyway, it will come through, but it will cause us to delay his flight, which we would have liked to have avoided. Thanks for your very nice words.

Yes Prasad, I am doing my level best to support Neeraj during this time. His frustration is quite high, but I know that it will be fine. I just don’t understand why they are making this such an issue. Thanks too for the very nice words.

Poonam ji sab theek hoga.. dont worry .. mata rani hai naa.. sab theek karegi.. and these govt servants have made it a habbit to harrass ppl .. and they completely have the come tommorow wala attitude.. anyways everything gonna be fine.. shayd Neeraj ka trip 2-4 din se delay ho jaye.. agar 2 din se hua to main mil loonga dono se Ohare par .. :) as i will be coming on 12 nite and will be there till 15th early morning.. is beech kabhi bhi flight aati hai to i will come to Ohare :) .. baki i am writing after a long time ..though i keep updated with all the happenings.. and pata hai mere ko meri hi nazar lag gayi .. pehle kehta tha naa ke koi kaam nahi hai .. ab aajkal khaali hi nahi hota.. :)..aur kitne dino se soch raha hoon tumhe call karonga.. waise jald hi tumhe call karonga.. hopefully by the end of this weekend. ya fir aaj :) dekhta hoon… chalo dont worry .. sab theek ho jayega.. Neeraj ko bhi boost karte raha karo tum.. woh to bas baarish ka maara hua hai waise bhi .. infact woh kya poore mumbai par kehar toot gaya hai .. bhagwan sabki raksha karen ..

khair hum bhi Mata Rani se prathna hi kar rahe hain ke sab aache se ho jaaye hamare liye. Dekhte hain..kal Neeraj wapas jaa raha hai to the Consulate…let’s hope for good news.

Aur toh bas sab sahi hai..kat rahi hai life. Tum karna jab bhi chance mile phone..bindaas.

oh … I am really sorry to hear this. I think I did a posting regarding the people in consulate, any consulate Those people are not friendly and helpful at all, there are some but it’s like one among 1000 people ? I don’t understand why they should behave like that ?
I hope this will sort it soon …. *hugs*

I really don’t understand either Mona. I know that you had also faced troubles with the Australian embassy people, and its just a shame the type of people that work at these places. They really need to get an attitude adjustment and learn how customers should be treated. It really makes me mad that there is nowhere to complain about these people. I had written a letter to the US Government, specifically Travel/State (those that handle Consulate matters), and they had written back with this vagueness of apologizing for the misbehavior but no regards to any action that might be taken. Its quite a sad state they are in.
