Another Show Gets Me Hooked!

So many of you know that I love my Hindi serials. :smile: May it be Astitva or Sindoor, I can’t stay even a day away from them. :smile: But these days, hard to believe, but I am not even watching Astitva during its primetime slot! :shock:

Why??????????? :roll:

Fame Gurukul - Watch on Sony TV

Yeh hai Fame Gurukul ka kamaal:!: :smile: Its time slot is the same as Astitva, hence I have to leave it to tape, while I watch the great singing show hosted by Mandira Bedi and Manav Gohil. :smile:

Its a great show, a spinoff of a Spanish singing show, and another Indian Idol bring-to-fame type of show. Why do I like this show so much? Because I like to see the candid behind-the-scenes what-is-happening-with-the contestants type shows. :smile: I feel that is when you really get to know who is there and what they are like. :smile:

So what happens is that in the beginning there were 14 contestants, and now we are down to six. Every week one contestant has to leave. The last one to leave recently was Mona Bhatt. :sad: The cool thing about this show is that there will be a Fame Jodi, so there will be two winners. :smile:

Who do I want to be in the Fame Jodi :?: I really wanted Anubhav and Mona to be the last two standing because they made a cute couple, and I like, many others, thought that they were in love with each other. I still think they are but at a tender age of 19 are not going to admit it to the rest of the world. Aakhir main ghar ki izzat ka sawaal hai, yeh hai India meri jaan. :smile:

They also had talent, both will a long way, and I really do hope that they get a chance in the future. But Anubhav was ousted two weeks ago, and Mona was out last week. :sad: So now who is left to win? Rooprekha is far the most talented singer out there (other than Arijit who is technically very sound). It would be great if Rooprekha and Rex are the Fame Jodi, they go well together as shown when they sang the title track of Dil toh Pagal Hai together. They have this cute chemistry and both are talented.

Arpita and Shamit would also be cool, and so would Arijit and Shamit (bhai-bhai ka pyaar bahut hai dono ke beech main :smile: ). But the thing is that Arijit is still quite young, and even though he is a classical guru, he has lots to learn. Five years from now he is will be an awesome singer:!:

The only one that I really don’t think should make it, and I can’t believe is still in the competition running, is Qazi. Why? Arre yaar kya bataye, he is not a singer, he’s an actor. He gets put in the danger zone almost every week, and every week junta pulls him back into Gurukul. Many great singers (Kirti and Anubhav) have left due to the fact that Qazi had the highest votes from the public. Its really wrong that he is winning due to self-pity and not due to his singing ability (which there is none). He has got this very high voice, too high for a guy, and it just doesn’t fit with any song. :no: He’s back in the danger zone this week, we will see if he gets voted out.

    Sawaal dus crore ka?

    Is it really a reality show?

    I mean whatever they show on the candid is it really real…..or do they act that stuff?

    I don’t know but I think it is acting….

    I don’t follow the show religiously, but yea that Qazi guy is irritating + _un_talanted. BTW they got vids @ the sify site.

    I rarely find time to watch serials and reality shows… by the time I come home, it’ll be late and I jus enjoy the sports and music thts shown on TV…
    I did see the final episode of the Indian Idol.. and tht was good… Even fame gurukul once I saw it for sometime, but the problem is if u don’t get time to check it regularly, u’ll not feel interested.. so, better leave it.. and thts what I did :)

    Hmm… I don’t think its acting Gaurav. These ppl cry so much…I have seen I think everybody on that show cry atleast once…including Ila Arun, headmaster. Plus its not like the reality shows here in America, those are all acting, but this so far has seemed real. When you have a character like Qazi, so unpredictable, I really don’t think you can write a script. Plus Rooprekha..:lol: she couldn’t act worth anything, she would start laughing. :rotfl:

    These days even I get home late Prasad, but I either videotape the show and watch it later or try to get home prior to it starting. :razz: Sab sab ki shauk ki baat hai, right? :smile: Anyway, I will surely keep this post updated. :wink:

    TV kya hota hai.. I have forgotten since the day i came here.. haven’t seen it for over a month now!

    Have heard a lot about this Fame Gurukul.. looks like a nice program… atleast sas-bahu wars se to better hai :)

    Right contestants at ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ are the best. And the MahaYudh is getting dangerous… watch out this week’s AD :cool:

    I did start watching Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in the beginning of this new challenge thing they are doing Mallika, but I lost interest quickly. I think its due to the time slot here, it just doesn’t suit me, and second they sing really slow songs. :sad: It is a good show, but just not for me. :smile:

    Are they using messages as well for voting, same like Indian Idol ? There is one show like this as well here in Indonesia, everyday, there is program which show how they live together in the house and what they are doing. I like XYZ-Idol better :eyebrow: I am quite curious about this show, Fame Gurukul because I read somewhere that this show is really good, like you said :mrgreen: I really want to watch Koffee with Karan too :sad: Unfortunately, we can’t get any Indian channels here ….

    these reality shows can get too addictive. i realized this while watching Indian Idol…i followed that one very close…and almost cried when rahul saxena was prematurely ousted! :sad:

    so this time i’ve consciously stayed away from fame gurukul! cudnt afford it cutting into my study time! but from wut i’ve seen of the promos, qazi seems very much out of place!

    Yup Mona they are using public voting through phone and SMS for this show too. So what happens is that four people get put in the danger zone, and that time immediately one person gets to go into the safe zone because they are saved by the faculty (their teachers/mentors — Ila Arun, Padma Wadhkar, and Prashant I don’t know his last name :roll: ). Then they perform again the next week on Wednesday, and then on Thursday, one person gets saved by the public, one person gets saved by the rest of the contestants that are left, and then one person goes home. :sad: Its a real cool show. Even I don’t get the Star shows like Koffee with Karan. I have been trying to find them on the net for quite some time. :eyebrow:

    You got it Vidhi! They are highly addictive:!: Anyway, this is a good one. I didn’t get to watch Indian Idol because they didn’t show it on Sony here, but I am really enjoying Fame Gurukul, even though I can’t vote. :sad: Qazi needs to go home…i hope they send him home today!

    But I just checked their website.. why does Qazi get soo many votes???? I don’t know how well he sang..but god! he needs to go.

    Good to hear that Rex is back. Man, such a hard choice between Rex, Mona, and Kirti. I would want all three to comeback and QAZI TO LEAVE!!!!!!! :lol:
