I have been scrambling today, with yesterday being a holiday, to talk to landlords for a potential apartment for Neeraj. I found one that was advertising $375. The one that we thought would have been good for us, mainly because it was furnished and there was no lease was for $495 a month. Unfortunately when I called yesterday, they didn’t have an availability. That is why I was scrambling today. 
So we were down to two – one that was $375 and the other that was $439. The first one I hadn’t seen but the price was good and location was good (hardly five mins). After speaking to the lady, I found out another good thing: they had six month leases. Everything was perfect about the latter one ($439) other than the fact that it was a year long lease. 
I wanted to make a decision today so I went to see the one that was $375. I didn’t like it, but there was another one that was $400 that I liked. I have to pay another 50 bucks a month because I wanted the six month lease. So the rent is $450 in total per month. A little more than I would have liked but its a nice size room with air conditioning/heating, nice bathroom, kitchen with stove and oven.
Now I have to wait till tomorrow to see if my application approves. The landlord will check my credit history (make sure I pay my other bills on time), check my references, and talk to my employer to make sure that I work there. Once all that is done, she will let me know if I have been approved or denied. Let’s hope for the best! 
Last parting thought on this: Neeraj will spending a lot of time with me at my home anyway, so I think it should be good for now.

wow, I wish, I lived there…..400 ka 1 bd room appt. thast really cool. So wot Airline is Neeraj using? (I hate China Airlines :| )

Neeraj is coming from unfortunately the only open airline he could find at the time he bought his ticket (late july), air india.
