Just When You Thought….
Ha. Did we fool you. 
Actually they fooled us. 
Ok, who fooled who????? 
There is one thing that you all need to understand (and maybe you have already caught on from reading this blog 
), and that is that Neeraj and I live on this emotional rollercoaster. Mata Rani can’t see us happy for too long and hence when we are very happy, we always receive bad news soon after. 
This has happened to us before such as:
Winter 2003 when I was going to come to India, then wasn’t able to Neeraj coming in August 2005 to USA, but that didn’t happen Recently Neeraj had a job interview, told him that he needed to have one more client interview, only to find out that it was going to take another couple of weeks for him to start that job 
And many more incidents……
Our marriage date is very much the same. 
So just when we thought that we had finalized 13th May for the date, we receive a phone call two days ago from my Papa at 10 pm. He says that my thoujee called and said that 13th May is my dadaji’s (paternal grandfather) death anniversary and so that day is inauspicious to hold the wedding. So Papa had called Neeraj’s father in India, and he had then said that they will find another date. Later on the next morning, we find out that there are no other auspicious dates for Neeraj and myself (scroll down to find out how they figure out dates for marriages) until June. 
Now what? 
Well, Neeraj told his father last night that we will then have to ask my parents and see if they are able to find a date with our priest. Due to the fact that Neeraj, myself, and my family will only have minimal time off from our respective jobs, we didn’t want to deviate too much from the May 13th date.
The only other detail that is important to know is that Neeraj’s sister’s marriage is on 30th April in Kota, Rajasthan. 
So we can’t move the date too early either from 13th May.
Long story short
It happens only with Neeraj and Poonam, trust me. 
The new date is Wednesday, 17th May.
You all are very much invited, and we are expecting you all to come. I am working on getting our plane tickets, and Neeraj and I will be flying into Delhi. I will spend some time in Mumbai as well prior to the wedding, and after the wedding we will be in Delhi for a day or so. We hope to see all of you in Jaipur with us, but if you all would like to get together in either Mumbai or Delhi, do let me know.
My two best friends (Diane and Beth) are flying from Chicago to Jaipur as well to attend my wedding, along with Diane’s husband. That is what I call friendship:!: To take it a step farther, my 11th standard teacher, who I am still very close to, is also coming with her husband. Can you believe it???? We are going to take them to the Taj Mahal after the wedding.
Honeymoon? 
Neeraj and I have planned to go to France for our honeymoon but not on this trip. Maybe November or December 2006 we will have our honeymoon. We want to spend the maximum days with his family as well as some extra days with Diane and Beth so that we can show them our land.
Neeraj and I want to meet up with you all:!: So let me know your plans.

Have marked 17th May on my calender… and most probably, if I’m free at that time of the year, I and Tan will attend your wedding.. :)
LOL. I didn’t asked about a bachelorette (are the spellings correct? :P) party, ‘coz I never ever have heard about it before :P Simple. :D

Poonam,ab main kyaa bolu????:hyper: I am actually very happy that you guys will get married on May 17th!! It actually turned out pretty well..you know why? Guess..guess! May 17th is the day Bhushan and I actually got together…after much “stalking” on his part I finally said “okay” I shall “think about you more” hehe…so that way, we will be celebrating our “6th anniversary” if we may call it so…on your wedding daay!!! I cannot be more happy! Lagta hai sach main May 17th is a very very very lucky day

well 17th of jan is when saahil and i got together…so that way 17th is lucky for me too!
but it’s most awful that i wont be able to attend ur wedding due to the reason i told u! i really really wanted to!

oh… so much has happened? anyway, its jus delayed by 4 days.. so, tht way its better.. guess May 17 seems to be a gud day for most of the ppl here.. :)

woa ! u not gonna belv this… 2 days back i was talking to bharti’s boss n she was like when r u coming to delhi again n i was like if i hv to then in may coz may 17th a frnd is getting married in jaipur !!! n today when i read the blog ur wedding date has been shifted to 17th may !!!
lets hope i can make it coz its a week day so gonna be v diff…
