Invites, Home, Shopping, Hotels..

Its taken some time for me to write a post only because so much has happened in the last week. :faint: That includes personally as well as professionally, which I wasn’t expecting the latter.

I have been at “home” since yesterday because my project got postponed due to contract issues. I most likely will be home for the next week as well, and then the week after that I leave for India with Neeraj and Papa. I am a bit freaked out about what’s going to happen because Neeraj is also working at the same client through another company, and well it would make sense for me to stay there — so hopefully the contract issues will work out.

In good news, we got the invitations by DHL on Monday. :hyper: They are FABULOUS!!!! Neeraj and I went to the mandir on Wednesday and put one in front of Mata Rani’s murti. Then we also put one in our mandir at home too:!: Papa has addressed the rest of them, and so we have started to send them out to our family & friends. Look for one in your nearest inbox.

Mumma has reached India. :hyper: She left on Saturday, 8th April on AA (the new direct flight to Delhi). She said the flight was great — seating was good and also the food. She didn’t have any troubles @ Delhi airport, and saw my cousins once she got outside. Now she is in Mumbai doing the same as we did here with the invitations and taking one to the mandir first.

Tomorrow is our day for shopping — Neeraj and I have a lot to buy for his side of the family. We are still waiting on our Citibank NRI Account to open up. :irked: It says that it takes 10 business days to open, its been more than that since we had sent it on 25th March. We called yesterday to their help center, and they said that it takes time for the verification and to call back on Tuesday. :irked: Let’s see what happens then. These darn banks!!!!

Looking for hotels in Mumbai for my friends to stay at — looking at Hotel Bandra Residency, looks good and nice rate as per TravelGuru. Anybody has any other ideas? Not looking to spend alot — somewhere around 2500 rupees.

So that’s it for now I guess.

Nice to see your comment Nainy. Many members of our family don’t know about this website, so don’t worry. Thanks for the nice words — we have always had fun with you as well.

Thanks Manpreet. Yes we did get them done in Mumbai. The choice/pasandi goes to my cousin, mamaji, and mamiji — they got everything done for us.

    Thanks Harry.

Poonam… I’ve heard of bandra residency but havent been inside so cant comment on that… but if you are willing to spend a little extra, there’s this really fantastic hotel called “Executive Enclave” down pali hill which charges about Rs 3000 per room i guess.

I know the manager, I’ll call him to ask him if he can provide us with some discount. How many rooms are you looking at? Mail me.

    Poonam,

nice to know the marriage preparations are going on fine.

Noticed your comments about the Citibank NRI account. I opened one in October last year and the cust. service etc is OK..however I am not at all happy with Citibank. Their exchange are among the WORST among all the banks (almost a 1.00 to 1.50 Rs per USD less than the RBI rate and also rates of other banks). I am closing my citibank NRI account after doing a lot of research during the last 2 months and am planning to open one with some other bank. Just thought I would give you a headsup. Again..this was just my experience and so I am hoping your experience would be better.

Take care and good luck with the trip preparations.

    Ashwin

Thanks Monty — not sure if we want to stay on Pali Hill. Thanks for the offer.

Invite has been sent Kunal.

Thanks for the info Ashwin — really good stuff. Citibank doesn’t have good exchange rates, but thinking of using Remit2India services to transfer money into our Citibank account. We will see how that works.

Life is very busy Ankur.

    Thanks Prasad.
