Current Tune: Mere Haath Mein – Fanaa
I am writing this with a fresh mind today, which is good for me because I think I write the best during those times.
So the morning of the 18th May we reached Neeraj’s home where we got settled. It was already morning, so Neeraj’s sisters were all busy with hosting the guests that were staying with them. We completed the pooja and all that needed to be done in the morning, and Suraj and my cousin Gautam went back to the hotel.
This post is going to revolve around the song that I have added to listen while you read the post. This song is very meaningful to us — because after a long time, we have finally gotten what we have wanted — to be together.
There is a tradition in my family where the newlyweds have the first meal with the bride’s family. We had a late lunch with my family and then we headed back to Neeraj’s brother’s home where we would be staying.
mere haath mein tera haath ho
saari jannatein mere saath ho – 2
tu jo paas ho phir kya yeh jahaan
tere pyar mein ho jaaun fanaa
As we were in the Sumo going home, Neeraj and I sat, holding each other’s hands, thinking about the trying times that we had faced to feel this moment of being together.
tere dil mein meri saanson ko jagah mil jaaye
tere ishq mein meri jaan fanaa ho jaaye
I think the feeling became more and more real as we spent more time together that day. We were Neeraj and Poonam; we were one.
jitne paas hain khushbu saans ke
jitne paas hothon ke sargam
jaise saath hain karvat yaad ke
jaise saath baahon ke sangam
Its amazing how you can feel so complete when that special person walks into your life. Being with Neeraj, I realized that everything in the world was more beautiful, and with love, everything seems more brighter. Knowing Neeraj was near me made me feel even more relaxed — otherwise this is usually a tough time for the bride trying to adjust to her new life. I had that time during the day as well — I can’t tell you how many times I cried just thinking about being away from my family. Those moments have been toughest for me ever in life.
jitne paas paas khwaabon ke nazar
utni paas tu rehna hamsafar
tu jo paas ho phir kya yeh jahaan
tere pyar mein ho jaaon fanaa
Before marriage, Neeraj and I had dreamt about everything in regards to life after marriage. We talked about what we wanted to accomplish, our kids, our families, and our careers. Neeraj and I have always had this connecting vibe with each other — we just sync so well in means of our thinking. As we reached Neeraj’s brother’s home that night, we took our first step together in starting that life.
There are times that you are so happy that you cry. There are also times that there is an event that you had been waiting for so long finally happens which makes you cry happily. As Neeraj and I were together, we were so happy that it made us cry.
rone de aaj hamko
do aankhen sujaane de
baahon mein lene de
aur khud ko bheeg jaane de
Let us cry together, let us be so close to feel every emotion of each other.
hain jo seene mein qaid dariya
woh choot jaayega
hain itna dard ke tera daaman
bheeg jaayega
Let all of the pain and suffering that we have faced through the years slowly seep out of us. Enjoy that feeling of rejoice – that finally we are together.
adhoori saans thi
dhadkan adhoori thi
adhooren hum magar
ab chaand poora hain falak pe
aur ab pooren hain hum
All the feelings within us that were incomplete before marriage had finally come together on this faithful day. We were complete, we were one.
