1st Karva Chauth
Note this was written yesterday — I just forgot to post.
Today is my first Karva Chauth.
Its an exciting day as its a special day for Hindu husbands and wives everywhere. This is the day that the wife fasts for the husband’s long life, prosperity, and well-being. I have always prayed for Neeraj’s well-being for so many years (I have even fasted previously on this day), but this was the first year that we would be together on this special day.
So I am fasting today and did the various things that I was told to do. I woke up before sunrise and ate some food prior to getting ready to go to the office. I have so far not doing anything related to sewing and or using scissors (there is a signficance of that but I didn’t ask my mother
). I will break my fast when we see the Almighty chanda (moon) tonight.
As you may know, Neeraj and I have moved recently to a different city in a different state. We have adjusted well to our new apartment, but we have had a hard time the past two nights trying to find where we would be able to see the moon.
Unfortunately its not seen from our balcony, and we most likely will have to head outside tonight to get the glimpse.
Usually the husbands don’t keep the fasts with the wives, but my Papa has been doing it for some time. As for Neeraj, I am not sure if he is doing it or not — but its fine either way.
I guess I will find out Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge style just like Simran (Kajol) found out after breaking her fast that Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) had also kept a fast for her.
My parents are also coming to be with us this evening, since it is my first time participating in this pooja (ceremony).
It will be great to see them, and Mumma and I willl break our fasts and eat together.
To all husbands/wives and to-be husbands/wives enjoy this special day together and tell your special loved one how much you are care for him/her.
Alvida. Jai Mata Di.

SO did you finally got a glimpse of Moon. As in our area it didn’t even pooped up as it was raining and very cloudy and Panditji said Chand Ki chandni se hi kaam chala lo , my wife was reluctant as this was her first fast with me, but fir mere aur panditji ke kehne par she finally ate :). Which city you guys moved to. Did Neeraj got a job. Its been a while I visited your blog. Will give you call sometime soon.

As for Neeraj, I would like to ask you, what do you think? Do you think that Neeraj kept a vrat or not?
Kaush and Manpreet, please also provide your insight.
Good to see you Amit.
As for the password protection, it hasn’t been on the site for many months now. It seems to show that you haven’t come to the site for a very long time.
Good to see you after a long time too Manish.
We didn’t have luck at seeing the chand either. Neeraj and I are in Missouri these days and we both have jobs here. Hope to talk to you soon.

Wah Kaush kya baat hai, itna viswaas hai Neeraj par??
Aur Manpreete tum bilkul opposite answer than Kaush.
Ab jawaab yeh hai ke Neeraj ne bahut aachi koshish ki hai vrat rakhne ki bas itna nahi pata tha ke phal nahi khaa sakte, khair mard ke liye shayad chalta bhi hai (depends on who you ask
). Toh Neeraj ne vrat rakha tha bas ek apple khaya tha.

just a hello from Las vegas :)
October 18th, 2006 at 11:25 pm
Well technically I think everyone won Manpreet.
Beacuse an apple does count as part of the vrat for men.
Hope all is well with you Kaush dear.
Enjoy your time in Vegas, and have a safe journey home:!:
