The week is ending, and Neeraj and I have had a productive three days. We have worked really hard at completing major tasks at home by using our “trusty whiteboard” and hashing out all that we need to complete upon returning from work.
We have major plans for 2007 that need to be properly thought out, and that’s what we have done in the last few days of 2006.
One of the major things that we have thought about doing the past few months but never got around to is understanding the US Tourist Visa process. Today, its all figured out on our end.
Visa is Never Complete with Us
I have many relatives including Lata Didi & her family (my masi) and Raju Bhaiya & his family (my cousin) who have expressed great interest in coming to the US in 2007. Not only that we have plans to bring Neeraj’s parents to the US for some time as well. With all this in mind, we had promised ourselves that we would spend the time to do our homework to understand the Tourst Visa process so that we can explain it to them. In the latter part of the year, we had heard great news that the US embassies in India have made great strides to improve the process. Visa interview appointments can be made online and received in one week’s time as well as visa itself will be processed next day, if approved.
Good news for us but it was always put on the backburner to take the time to research. Well today it was accomplished. We have taken the time to look at the major websites (New Delhi US Embassy & Mumbai US Embassy) to understand the steps of the process (Paying the Visa Fees, Requesting Visa Interview Appointment, Gathering All Required Documents, and Appearing at Visa Interview).
I have emailed Raju Bhaiya already in hopes that he will start the process on his end. With it being New Years this weekend we will surely talk to Neeraj’s parents as well as Lata Didi so that they also start the new year with completing the visa work.
We have spoken to many friends in the past two days, including our dear Kaush.
Thanks for calling, and I wish I could have been more helpful than I was for you that day.
Whatever you choose to do you will do the right thing I know.
May the new year bring you all of the happiness that you deserve in the world.
The Shepard was No Good
Neeraj and I also went to see The Good Shepard starring Robert DeNiro, Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, and Alec Baldwin. It was a spy movie about this CIA agent in the 1940s-1960s but frankly Neeraj and I both thought it was pretty confusing.
The theatre was jam packed with people, but the movie itself wasn’t impressive at all.
We are going back to Morton tomorrow night. We will be there till Monday and going to enjoy the time with friends and family. Don’t worry I will post before the 1st.
Enjoy the times……its time to go to sleep for me.
Alvida. Jai Mata Di.
