Star News Bakwaas, Vegas, and VIP Dilemma
It must have been a slow news day for Star News (which is hard to believe because they come up with the oddest news story even when there is nothing going on
), as they were showing the new rumour on the street in Bollywood: Rani Mukherjee is engaged/secretly married to Aditya Chopra! There were two parts of this story that made it even more hilarious: (1)Aditya isn’t divorced yet to his wife Payal, and (2)Star News had no credible sources that could say that this was true or not! If you don’t know, then why are you showing it on the air????
Furthermore, we saw the news when we came home for lunch, only to find out that when we turned on the TV after coming back from the office at 6pm, they were still showing that news!!!
Crazy.
Life otherwise is…. cool.
The family and us are going to Vegas on Labor Day weekend. We have already booked our tickets ($160 r/t — good deal). The parents were here in STL yesterday evening, and we went to Harrah’s casino together (they had some coupons or free $$ that they wanted to use up before it expires). Neeraj ended up winning $50, I ended up losing. We ended up only getting an $8 profit.
We just played the slots, but I was telling Neeraj that I wanted to play at the tables in Vegas (blackjack, poker, texas hold’em), so Neeraj said that we should practice.
Ha, we don’t find time to study for GMAT, and we will practice poker!
Those who didn’t see the sarcasm in the last sentence, I will make it more clear: that won’t be happening.
Work has been busy for both of us this week…I am ready for the weekend.
Neeraj and I are going to go see Jhoom Barabar Jhoom at the movie theatre. Should be fun even though Neeraj thinks the movie will be a joke.
Kalam for President!!
Have you ever thought about the three letter acronym, VIP? VIP stands for very important person, but really, who is important and who isn’t? Are you important? Is the person next to you or the next person that walks by you, is that person important? Why have we given this term to some people and not all? After all, aren’t we all important? Or do some people have status and others don’t? I think that I am a VIP, but why doesn’t everyone else? Interesting isn’t it? What’s your take?

VIP. I think it is a societal term.
Morally and ethically, I believe we are all equal, but society does not. Society doesn’t just look at the person as a person but also the material wealth. Too bad.

Great to see your comment Diane! Comment more often.
Yep Vegas should be fun - never been there. But Labor Day is still loong ways a way. I have to find out from Suraj about the cost of the moving. Let me do that today.
