So I have been busy for a while and didn’t get a chance to update. Now I am back with a vengeance.
Gokul Restaurant – St. Louis – Never to Go Again….
I am not sure whether their management has changed or what, but I will not be going to Gokul Restaurant on Page Avenue in STL anytime soon.
I put the limit at 2 bad experiences per restaurant. The second time we didn’t even have any of the food because get this – no one ever came by to ask us what we wanted!
The food the first time was not so good either. We had the buffet, and the naan didn’t show up until our food was over. There are much better Indian restaurants where I would spend my money (Taj Palace in Chesterfield or India Palace near the airport) any day than this place.
So if bad customer service appeals to you, this is the place – otherwise skip it. ![]()
Google+ – I like it
I got the invite to Google+, and I am a fan already.
In general as there are Apple fans, I am a die hard Google fan. There is very few things from Google that I don’t like, and definitely I think that they did a great job with Google+.
I hope that it works out for them. The Circles feature is one of the things that I really like. I am able to group people that I am friends with and then determine what I want to share with whom. Love that concept.
There is plenty to still learn but the fact is its just not a replacement for Facebook but I think that LinkedIn and Twitter could also be in trouble if they don’t take it to the next level.
Flights to Mumbai
Looking for deals to Mumbai for November… this heat is not keeping me in the mood to do much at the computer. We shall see..I plan on focusing on this tomorrow.
I guess that’s it for now…. stay cool…wherever you might be in the world.
Alvida. Jai Mata Di.

Gokul used to be one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the area 8-9 years back. As college students, we used to love going there
But ever since they have transitioned from being a fast food to a full fledged restaurant, both their service and food suck
We quit going there after our last bad experience. Still have to try the Taj, but I have heard good things about that place
. It would be hard to get people to switch from Facebook to Google+, and until they do that, they will not be able to make their place in the social media industry. The main reason Orkut failed was because people switched to Facebook
. Who really likes to have more than 1 social media site presence
? So unless Google does something revolutionary, they won’t be here to stay for too long
…that is what I think. I hope they get it right, but I have serious doubts about it
. “Facebook” has become a synonym of social networking, and once a company gets such solid base, it become very hard for anyone to budge them
Google+ – still not sure about it
I definitely know what you are saying about Gokul Manu.
They definitely seem like their management has changed because the girl that I see now behind the counter doesn’t even smile. Previously there was a Gujrati guy that was always there that always was nice and smiled. I was thinking at that time, “Wow, this restaurant is going to do well”, but oh no, not so much anymore.
We shall never go there again.
As for Google+, I think it really has potential. I have really thought recently to drop Facebook all together and move to Google+. Google+ is definitely not like Orkut. Orkut didn’t keep up with the times as Facebook and MySpace immersed into the social networking field. But Google+ I think is very much different because it is now ahead of the times due to its ability to do what multiple companies are trying to do (Facebook and Twitter are now both part of the competition). Its also got features that Facebook doesn’t like video chatting in a group (hangouts) as well as the grouping of people (circles) and sending messages only to specific circles.
So all in all, I am excited about Google+.
We will see how it develops and where it develops to, as well as Facebook’s response.
They won’t stay quiet for long.
