NP.com would like to wish all of its readers a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
All in all, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
We have had a fun filled four days spending time with friends and family. We started out with leaving Friday from MO to go to Springfield and surprising my parents by showing up wayyyy early than what they expected.
Then we watched Bigg Boss that night as Deepak Tijori exited the house. (Yay!
). Neeraj and I then headed for Morton after watching the show as we were going to meet up with the ‘gang’ (a.k.a Diane, Daniel, and Beth) Saturday early morning @ our house.
I finished some gift wrapping of presents that night, and then Saturday we spent an enjoyable day with the friends.
We played games, watched the well awaited Office Space, and played hours of nonstop fun of table tennis (i.e. ping pong).
They ended up leaving at midnight that night, and Neeraj and I were so tired we immediately went to bed.
We woke up on Christmas Eve early as we needed to clean up the house and head to Springfield to be with the family.
How fun it was opening presents that night — we had gotten my parents a brand new digital camera (they don’t have one, and their regular camera was not in good shape
), so Neeraj & I bought them a brand new Canon Powershot A710 digital camera that has 7.1 megapixel, 2.5″ LCD screen, 6x Optical/4x Digital Zoom, etc…
It was a great camera, and I had done some extra research to read the reviews, and it was the one I wanted to get them.
They were very excited to receive it:!:
We got Suraj a brand new Chaps wool winter overcoat, History of the Chicago Bears DVD (which was on his wishlist
), and then a very nice sweatshirt that we know that he would love.
Suraj had gotten my parents a DVD Recorder with VCR, which is very much needed in the family.
My father was thrilled to get that — plus Suraj had bought it during Black Friday, and since then Papa had no clue that he had bought it for him.
Suraj had gotten us the Mio Portable GPS (Global Positioning System), which we tried on the way home, and it was awesome! For those who may not know,
GPS basically tells you where you are and you can put in your destination address, and it will show you the directions. Not only that, but this specific system is also a MP3 player, so you can upload your songs, and you can play all of your favorite tunes.
I bought Neeraj a party dress shirt, gray dress pants, sweater, as well as he is a Sudoku fanatic, so we had bought a day-to-day calendar so that he is able to do one puzzle every day next year.
By chance, Suraj had also got Neeraj the same thing:!: It was funny.
Neeraj bought me the Red Hat Linux Bible, this book that will help me brush up on my Linux skills. We are going to get the old PC we have sitting @ Morton and bring it here so that we can experiment together working on Linux (its all tech talk
).
Suraj also gave Neeraj a board game that he loves, Monopoly, the Mega Edition, and also 5-in-1 game set (Chess, Backgammon, Checkers, Dominoes, Playing Cards).
Suraj also found my Flash Drive that I have been searching for all last week:!: That was the best surprise of all.
We also got little stuff, like I had gotten a perfume and a Santa that plays the drums (very cute!), Neeraj and Suraj got a cologne set, and Papa got a tool set.
All in all we really all enjoyed each other’s company for the past three days.
Neeraj and I enjoyed the time we spent with our friends as well — thanks for spending the whole day with us.
Now we are back home, and tomorrow its time to go back to work!
Those who are staying @ home tomorrow, enjoy the holidays.
Alvida. Jai Mata Di.
