Good, Bad, and the Ugly

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Here I am again after a long break. Every time I think that I will write more on my blog, those are the times that I write less. I am not sure why that happens. Oh wait, I know….. because job is too busy, because personal life is too busy, because life in general is too busy.

But I do come and visit you dear blog, and I think about you. So I will try to find more time to write to you.

Right now I have something to share with you: the good, the bad, and the ugly since the last time we chatted like this.

This song is on the top of my playlist and on the repeat list. I love the music of this song and the lyrics. Go ahead and listen as you read this post. If it doesn’t want to make you get up and dance…. then I guess our taste of music isn’t the same.

News, GMAT, and a Surprise!

Current Tune: Apne Toh Apne Hote Hain - Apne

Many things to say, many places to start….from where should I start? Well, keep listening to the song, by the end of this post you will know why I chose this song.

Good place to start…..the news.

Congrats to the Taj! Taj Mahal was named as one of the modern 7 wonders of the world. I know that my American friends when they had come to India for Neeraj and my marriage, and we had taken them to the Taj Mahal, they were amazed by its beauty. Its more amazing in person for those who have not seen it. Congrats to all of the other 6 wonders as well, but definitely we are very happy for our Taj Mahal.

We came home for lunch today only to find out on Star News (these so very vela news company :irked: ) talking about people seeing a UFO (unidentified flying object) in Delhi, Jaipur, and some other place that starts with a K! Outrageous!!! :banghead: They kept on showing the same 3 second clip over and over again which you can’t even make out if its a UFO or an airplane. People who were telling over the phone in the news broadcast about what they had saw mentioned that they were outside watching this so-called UFO for three hours! If they were watching it for three hours, then why show us the same 3 second clip???? Not impressed. Star News always shows these really outrageous news stories — NDTV Zindabad!!!

Just when I thought I had seen enough pagalpanti for the day, I didn’t know what was going to happen to me in the latter part of the day. :irked: I came across this news story as I surfed the net. Rename India to Hindustan, but why???? Rename the Arabian Sea….again, but why??? Do you people not have anything else to do than to think of things to rename?? Geez, Bombay to Mumbai….Poona to Pune….Madras to Chennai….Baroda to Vadodara…:irked: Enough with the name changing and go on with your lives!!!

One other big thing happening in our life…. Neeraj and I are finally giving the GMAT (after a long awaited wait  ). Its scheduled for 29th July at 3pm…………. so we are now studying diligently (atleast trying  ) for it.

Long Awaited..But Finally Here!

This post should have been written a few days ago but life ko manzoor nahi hai ke woh dheere chale (life doesn’t agree to slowdown  ).

So let’s recap on what has happened over the past 6+ weeks:

First Snow Storm of the Year!

Sunday, December 3rd, 2006

Current Tune: Tere Bina - Guru

The last few days have gone by like a whirlwind. :lookaround: There is a lot that has happened with us, and its amazing how quickly it has flew by.

Midwest Gets Hit with the 1st Snow Storm of the Year!
There was a feeling since the beginning of the week that there would be a snowstorm on Thursday/Friday, but I don’t think anyone was really aware that it was going to hit this hard:!: Neeraj and I smartly completed all of our major grocery shopping on Wednesday night, thinking that if there this level of murmur going around about a storm, its better to be prepared than to be wishing that we should have been. It rained throughout the night on Wednesday turning into freezing rain and ice on Thursday morning. :cold: As we reached the office, the talk was just about the weather.

Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Bigg Boss, & Abhishek

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

So for starters, the long weekend was enjoyed wonderfully. Neeraj and I went back to Morton on Tuesday night. We had our favorite Taco Bell that night for dinner. We got home after 9 pm that night. Then the next day we had planned to go “car shopping” with my brother Suraj, as he wants to trade in his current car with a new one. Unfortunately we didn’t get a good deal from the dealer on the car that he wanted (Ford Fusion), so we scrapped the idea. By the end of the long weekend, we had finally convinced him to look at foreign made cars, so we are going to take a look @ the Hyundai Santa Fe SUV next time.

Wednesday night we had family come from Minnesota. It was Vinay Bhaiya, Kalpa Bhabhi, and their two kids, Neha & Soumya. We had a great time with them on Thanksgiving as we took them around Peoria, and then St. Louis on Friday. Their kids are so well behaved, and the time passed so smoothly. We really missed them when they left Saturday early afternoon. Soumya is only two, and she says the cutest things - but more than that she is one smiley child. Neha is also great - very smart.

Black Friday

Happy 4th, Meds, Travel…

Tuesday, July 5th, 2005

I wanted to write a post yesterday but didn’t get the time. So wishing a Belated Independence Day to my home away from home, United States of America. Many of my thoughts were written last year during this day, but I do hope that there are better things to come for you (America).

So much is going on. As we speak Neeraj is @ Lilavati Hospital in Bandra. He needed to reach @ 7.30 am this Wednesday morning, as he has to have a full medical checkup for his K1 visa interview. He won’t be done with the checkup until around noon. Sab aache se ho jaaye aur mere Neeraj ko koi takleef nahi ho.
